Shopmobility at Chapelfield is here to make shopping easier for everyone. Our scheme offers the loan of scooters, electric wheelchairs and manual wheelchairs to people who are either temporarily or permanently disabled, and elderly people with walking difficulties.
All our scooters and wheelchairs can be used at Chapelfield, Castle Mall and throughout Norwich, keeping within the boundaries of the inner city ring road. Our service is also interchangeable with the Castle Mall Shopmobility service - their opening hours are Monday to Saturday 10am to 4.30pm, closed Sundays.
The Shopmobility service desk can be found adjacent to the disabled parking bays on level-1 of the car park. Shopmobility users are entitled to 4 hours free parking at Chapelfield. Please have your parking ticket validated at Shopmobility.
A year’s membership costs £5, with a charge of £2 per loan. Manual wheelchairs cost £4 per day on a temporary basis (£2 with membership), with a £25 returnable deposit.
This cost covers the all-day hire of:
Small and large scooters
Electric power chairs and manual wheelchairs
To register your membership you will need to bring along two forms of identification, which can be of the following:
- Blue badge
- Passport
- Driving license
- 2 x utility bills
